Kevin McCarthy Associate Under Investigation For Allegedly Sexually Assaulting Pre-Teen Daughter

Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner finds himself under investigation for allegedly sexually assaulting his pre-teen daughter, according to Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood. This revelation came to light after a distressing family altercation led to Scrivner being stabbed twice in the chest by one of his children, according to reporting by LA Magazine.

Zack Scrivner, a noted Republican figure and associate of former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, was reportedly experiencing a psychotic episode when he was armed and confronted by law enforcement at his Tehachapi home. The call for deputies was initiated by his aunt, District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer, leading to the discovery of a chaotic scene at the Scrivner residence.

Upon arrival, deputies found that Scrivner had already been disarmed by his children, who acted following the serious allegations against their father. In the ensuing physical struggle, Scrivner sustained two stab wounds. The incident has led to the seizure of thirty firearms, various electronic devices, and psychedelic mushrooms from his home, items now subject to forensic examinations to assess their relevance to Scrivner’s state during the alleged crimes.

As the investigation proceeds, a criminal protective order has been put in place, restricting Scrivner’s contact with his children. The matter has escalated to the state Attorney General’s Office and may also involve the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, highlighting the severity of the allegations and the potential legal ramifications.

Scrivner’s legal representative, H.A. Sala, has vehemently denied the allegations of sexual assault, framing the violent episode as a consequence of Scrivner’s ongoing mental health crisis and a tumultuous divorce. Despite these challenges, Sala continues to portray Scrivner as a dedicated father with a robust career in local politics, spanning two decades including 14 years on the Kern County Board of Supervisors.

The broader Scrivner family remains embedded in local governance, with his wife, Christina Scrivner, serving on the Kern Community College District Board of Directors and other relatives holding significant positions within the community.

This case not only casts a shadow over Scrivner’s long-standing public service career but also poses urgent questions about the safeguards in place for the welfare of children in situations involving high-profile public figures. As the community reels from the revelations, the focus remains tightly on the unfolding legal proceedings and the well-being of the involved minors.
