RFK Jr. Reportedly Called Trump a “Sociopath” in Private Messages

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently described former President Donald Trump as a “terrible human being” and “probably a sociopath,” according to a report by The Daily Beast. Despite recent talks with Trump about a potential endorsement and a job in a possible second Trump administration, Kennedy made these disparaging remarks in text messages to an unidentified recipient. In one message, Kennedy referred to Trump as “the worst president ever and barely human.”

Contradictory Public and Private Statements

In July, Kennedy’s son, Bobby Kennedy III, posted and then quickly deleted a video showing his father on a phone call with Trump. In the clip, Trump expressed his eagerness for Kennedy to join his potential administration. “We’re going to win,” Trump said, to which Kennedy replied, “Yeah.” Following the post, Kennedy apologized to Trump, expressing his mortification over the video’s release.

Discussions of a Potential Role

A subsequent report by The Washington Post claimed that Trump and Kennedy had discussed Kennedy overseeing a portfolio of health and medical issues in a second Trump administration. Kennedy confirmed his willingness to discuss children’s health and ending the chronic disease epidemic with any party.

Campaign Director Confirms Discussions

Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, Kennedy’s daughter-in-law and campaign director, confirmed to The New Yorker that Trump’s team had suggested Kennedy might drop out of the presidential race. They reportedly acknowledged that Kennedy’s candidacy might draw more votes from Trump than from Joe Biden. She noted that Kennedy was not opposed to serving in a Trump administration, specifically as the secretary of health and human services. Fox also mentioned that Kennedy would be open to offers from Kamala Harris.

Critical Views on Biden

In the same text exchange where Kennedy criticized Trump, he also described President Joe Biden as “more dangerous to the Republic and the planet.”

The Bear Cub Incident

The New Yorker article was published a day after Kennedy released a video admitting to dumping a dead bear cub in Central Park in Manhattan a decade ago. Kennedy made this confession to comedian Roseanne Barr, attempting to preempt the story as New Yorker fact-checkers had inquired about it. Kennedy explained that he found the bear cub in upstate New York, transported it to Manhattan, and dumped it in Central Park under the cover of darkness, thinking it would be humorous to suggest the bear was killed by a cyclist. The piece included a photo of Kennedy pretending the bear was biting his fingers. When asked about the incident, Kennedy quipped, “Maybe that’s where I got my brain worm.”
