‘Qanon Shaman’ Says He’s Innocent Because He Stopped Insurrectionists From ‘Stealing Muffins’

Jacob Chansley, widely known as the “QAnon Shaman,” said during a recent interview with 60 Minutes that he is not guilty of the charges against him relating to the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection because he stopped others from vandalizing the Senate and stealing muffins.

“My actions were not an attack on this country,” Chansley said during his interview from jail. “That is incorrect. That is inaccurate, entirely.”

Asked how he would describe his actions on Jan. 6, Chansley responded: “My actions on Jan. 6? Well, I sang a song. And that’s a part of shamanism. It’s about creating positive vibrations in a sacred chamber.”

“I also stopped people from stealing and vandalizing that sacred space, the Senate,” he continued. “Okay? I actually stopped somebody from stealing muffins out of the break room.”

He also “said a prayer in that sacred chamber,” Chansley added, “because it was my intention to bring divinity and to bring God back into the Senate.”
